BSP Samoa Awards Schorlarships to 70 students
"Education is the foundation of a brighter future, and we are proud to be part of that journey for these students,” said BSP Country Manager, Tunumafono Jennifer Fruean, during the 2025 BSP Schools Scholarship Scheme awards ceremony held on Thursday, February 13.
Excitement and gratitude filled the air as 70 students from 32 schools, including 38 primary and 33 secondary schools, received full tuition scholarships under the program. This initiative, valued at $45,000, is designed to support families facing financial challenges by covering full tuition fees for the academic year.
An inspiring highlight of the event was a speech from Teuseepa Lauano, a current BSP scholarship recipient and a testament to the program's success. Sponsored by BSP for four years, Teuseepa shared her journey of perseverance and achievement, saying, "BSP’s support gave me the opportunity to focus on my education without the worry of financial challenges. Today, I am proud to say that I’ve achieved my goals, and I hope my story inspires these students to work hard and believe in their potential.”
The scholarship program, now an annual beacon of hope for families, received over 150 applications this year, underscoring the urgent need to ensure every child has access to quality education. BSP Country Manager Tunumafono Jennifer Fruean reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to community development: “Every year, BSP awards these scholarships to help families place their children in school. This is our commitment to developing our community and ensuring a continuous education for our children.”
